Holiday Mixology with Algin Management
__ Read articleHoliday Mixology with Algin Management
At Algin Management, we spend 12 months a year matching house-hunters with the perfect no-fee apartments in NYC, and this season, we’re sending out a special cocktail menu for residents of these luxury pads. Put on that holiday-inspired cap, head to the bar cart, and whip up one of these holiday-themed drinks to enjoy with your loved ones.
Bring a festive color palette to the evening with this Red Stag Dirty Shirley, a boozy twist on the classic nonalcoholic cocktail. Made with black cherry liqueur-infused Red Stag Bourbon, grenadine, lime soda, and the iconic bar treat maraschino cherries, this sweet concoction comes out bright red and a little bubbly, looking a bit like a drinkable Christmas Tree ornament.
Revelers yearning for a drink that packs an even stronger punch will love these White Christmas Margaritas. This seasonal update to the iconic Tijuana cocktail recipe brings coconut into the lime-forward flavor profile, replaces the traditional rim salt with sanding sugar, and drops in a few cranberries for good measure, resulting in a sweet take on the beloved sour beverage. Try making these margaritas alongside the Red Stag Dirty Shirleys for an attractive red-and-white Christmas cookie-themed night of drinks!
Of course, we can’t leave our teetotaling friends in the lurch. This season, try mixing up one of the booze-free cocktails from this list that Town & Country has compiled from high-end bars around the nation. The foamy Lamplighter Inn combines heavy cream and coffee grounds syrup(!) with a dash of lemon juice and egg whites for an after-dinner caffeinated treat, the Holiday Mule brings all the best non-vodka parts of a Moscow Mule to the table as well as a sprig of rosemary and a dash of powdered sugar, and Christmas Lights mixes the trendy fermented beverage kombucha with juice and sorrel tea for a puckering mocktail. And no holiday season would be complete without eggnog, available from T&C in the form of their nonalcoholic yet still delicious recipe.
No holiday would be complete without a cozy place to celebrate, and that’s where Algin Management can help. Check out the current availability in our portfolio of luxury Manhattan apartment buildings, then schedule a tour and begin planning a new home for your holiday cocktails!

Local Gems in Gramercy Park
__ Read articleLocal Gems in Gramercy Park
New York City is one of the world’s most celebrated culinary capitals—from mom-and-pop shops frequented by in-the-know foodies, to Michelin-star destinations helmed by celebrity chefs. Here are three of our favorite Gramercy Park gems, which are all currently offering outdoor seating options and delivery for our residents at The Liane and The Townsway who prefer to dine at home.
Mediterranean cuisine is probably best known for promoting health and longevity. But Barbounia on Park Avenue takes fresh ingredients and elevates them to exquisitely prepared perfection. The secret behind their next-level dishes may be their large wood-burning oven, which warms the fresh bread served alongside hummus and grills the Portuguese octopus, among other dishes. The fish offerings are among the deliciously eclectic menu’s showstoppers and ideal for savoring with an expertly crafted cocktail or glass of wine.
A good neighborhood Italian restaurant is a must—and Novita in Gramercy Park meets that requirement with aplomb (and with a convenient delivery option). On offer is excellent modern Italian fare in a charmingly authentic trattoria with spacious outdoor seating and the type of servers that remember your go-to dish and the perfect wine pairing suggestion. Simple staples like the penne al pomodoro with mozzarella and basil and the pappardelle with lamb ragu will satisfy the inevitable weeknight pasta craving. But for an indulgent touch, the truffle-rich butter sauce served with the homemade porcini ravioli and the Kobe beef Bolognese sauce come highly recommended. Just save room for the profiteroles and tiramisu.
For date night, or simply an evening of decadent French cuisine, Boucherie offers traditional brasserie and steakhouse fare (with delivery, pickup, and outdoor seating options) in a chic, old-school atmosphere. Start the evening off with a kick, with one of the specialty absinthe cocktails, and settle in with one of the nicely curated wines (French, of course). The menu features classic French dishes, from their rich mousse de foie gras and escargots starters to the salade Nicoise, coq au vin, merguez ratatouille, and duck leg confit. Or indulge from their steak selection, which includes Wagyu top sirloin, ribeye, filet mignon, and a heart-stopping 16-oz. Pat LaFrieda dry-aged New York strip. Of course, dinner wouldn’t be complete without a selection of cheeses and a crème brulee or crepes Suzette.
Residents of The Townsway and The Liane have a wide range of fine dining at their disposal, and matching international cuisine to your New York City mood is just one of the many perks of a Gramercy Park lifestyle.
